lets just sit and watch..

lets just sit and watch

the body in the purple headphones

dance to a silent beat

As we all tolerate

She has the answer or the right music

But somehow

Even if we put on the headphones

We wouldn’t be able

To feel what she feels

So let's just watch

As our hearts slowly drip into our sweaty shoes

To eventually spill out the tops

To be washed away by the impending rain

Or dried up by the wind and sun

I’ll gather whatever drops of other hearts I find during my morning commute

Part of the man's soul which drifted into my mouth as I biked behind him

Or the heart at lunch

Which donated to me

A single drop of hope

As she told me about her love for burlesque
